The Carnatic-Bollywood Progression Project (funded by Arts Council England National Lottery Funding) enabled us to develop our collaboration, Carnatic Connection, with the virtuoso violinist and educator Jyotsna Srikanth.
“Lower KS2 had the best time with the Bollywood Brass Band! We learnt so much and are
really excited to improve our brass skills and take part in a performance in June”
Warley Road Academy, Calderdale
The Project is delivered in partnership with 10 music education hubs and supports instrumental progression for young musicians. Bollywood Brass Band are delivering workshops and performances with beginner brass and string players in schools from hubs across West & South Yorkshire, Kent Music and Services for Education, Birmingham. Projects in each region culminate in high-profile public performances with the young people playing alongside a full set by Bollywood Brass Band and Jyotsna Srikanth, giving young musicians the chance to play with professional musicians.
